“50 YEARS OF TURKEY’S EU EXPERT”
Dear stakeholders;
2015 which corresponds to the 10th year of Turkey-EU accession negotiations, embodies a special meaning for IKV: IKV will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, having been founded in 1965 as the main representative of Turkish business community regarding EU affairs.
The 50th anniversary of IKV is not only a celebration for us but also a golden opportunity to increase the awareness in Turkey regarding the EU and Turkey’s recognition in Europe.
Established only two years after the signing of the Ankara Agreement in 1963 that founded the relations between Turkey and the European Economic Community of the time, IKV as “Turkey’s EU Expert” became the symbol of the long-term perspective of Turkish business community.
IKV has been contributing to the integration of our country to the modern world, based on its vision of a truly globalized Turkey.
Since its establishment, IKV brought European vision to Turkey and explained Turkey’s potential to Europe with the support of its founders, trustees and supporters without deviating from its mission and objectives and without losing its faith in Turkey’s potential to be a part of European integration.
In its 50th anniversary, IKV continues to maintain its vision and faith with the support of stakeholders.
In this regard, IKV aims to mark its 50th year as a milestone in Turkey-EU relations through sharing its knowledge with projects reaching all segments of the society.
In the first days of IKV’s 50th year, we owe a debt of gratitude to Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) as IKV’s founders; to especially Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), as well as Banks Association of Turkey (TBB), Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkish Confederation of Employers’ Association (TISK), Istanbul Commodity Exchange (ISTIB), Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD), Union of Agricultural Chambers of Turkey (TZOB), Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Association (ITKIB) as IKV’s trustees; and to IKV’s supporters.
