economically. The region where this rate is the highest is the
South Eastern Anatolian with 78.3%.
Similarly to the potential contribution of EU membership,
for 23% of the participants, Europe is synonym to welfare
and economic development. Furthermore, for 21% of
participants Europe signifies free movement and removal of
borders. Finally, 20% of participants believe that Turkey’s
membership to the EU will contribute improvement of
democracy and human rights in Turkey.
65.2% of participants is of the opinion that Turkey
economically needs the EU. The region where this rate is the
